My path into technology started in an unusual place: finance and accounting. Working close to the numbers taught me how businesses actually make decisions — and how often the right data is missing when it matters. That question led me to Data Science, and eventually to a Master’s degree in Machine Learning & Data Science at Universidad de los Andes.

For the past 4+ years I have led IT at Waypoint LLC, where I sit at the intersection of strategy and engineering: building GenAI applications (RAG, fine-tuning), prescriptive optimization models, automated data pipelines and the infrastructure and security that keep it all running.

I am at my best translating between executives and engineers — turning business problems into technical roadmaps, and technical results into decisions.

Response: Designed and deployed a prescriptive ML model that recommends optimal bids from historical performance, market signals and cost constraints, integrated into the team’s daily workflow.

Challenge: Critical company knowledge was locked inside large, complex databases that only technical staff could query, creating a bottleneck for every data question.
Response: Built an internal LLM application combining Retrieval-Augmented Generation with fine-tuned models, so business users can ask questions in plain English and get grounded, source-backed answers.
